What people are saying about this course

Never thought about thinking

I thought I have taught my students science in a fun way but having done this course it has made me think that there is so much I can do. It has equipped me to tap into the way they think and then it has given me tools and hands-on opportunity to try all these wonderful concepts. I am already changing my lesson plans to be more metacognitive!

Straight to the core

I am surprised that in spite of overwhelming evidence in academic research on the importance of metacognition how come this has not yet become mainstream. This course paves the way and bridge that gap by bringing the concepts from academic realm to real life teaching. Have been waiting for this for a long time. I can certainly see my students becoming life long learners.

Even the average students can excel

Teachers tend to focus more on the fast movers in the class and eventually the average learner gets left behind as the focus is more on completing the syllabus. Often these learners are left to fend for themselves. However, this course has provided me some simple, effective and useable techniques through which even the average learner can excel and shine because once they know the importance of resilience, self-learning strategies and creativity taught through this course then they get going.

Critical thinking, no more a nicety

Just in last two decades technology has swamped us and our lives have changed fundamentally. Along with its benefits it also brings its own challenges. Old style traditional teaching thus has become irrelevant. Unless children are taught to critically think what they learn, what they read, what they see it will be very difficult for them to survive in this relentless pursuit of technological progress. This course brings these basics of thinking to the fore along with ideal templates and plans to implement them in real life. A much needed essential, vital course for every school!

A fundamental long awaited change

Councillor / MP / Minister - Education field

Changes in education to take effect take a generation. However, with technology changing our lives at a much faster rate it has become necessary for our education to adapt. We can no more afford to be prescriptive as to this is what you will need to learn because by the time children finish their formal education these things will have become obsolete. Hence, it is imperative that they should be taught a much more fundamental thing and that is to analyse and take control of the way they think. Once they are equipped with this very basic but essential skill then they can adapt to any change that comes their way. Once the foundation is sound and sturdy they can then build the edifices of knowledge and prosperity tomorrow. Our responsibility thus is to provide them with these skills which this course effectively does. With leading brains behind this course and with ASTML's focus on real life hands-on experience I am sure that the teachers undertaking this course will be fully equipped to make the future citizens of this country not only efficient doers by great visionary thinkers.
